Thai Bangkaew Dogs

Welcome to Bangkaew Natural Caverns

Text Box:

Admittedly, the only thing that we “wonder” is what they do with all the dirt!

These caverns were discovered in our backyard soon after the recent importation of the favored Dog of Thailand,  the Thai Bangkaew.   If it’s not apparent, they LOVE to dig.

The photos below just do not reflect the actual magnificence of this subterranean cavern.  It's roof held the weight of a human (adult male) without collapsing and it was comprised of a network of chambers large enough to hold three grown dogs!   The ceiling was adorned with the roots of Bermuda Grass & Pine Trees. Amazingly this excavation project was completed in just a few days.

Remarkably, this dig doesn’t hold the record. Previously, Ranger Jonathan filled a tunnel that truly looked like the underground film set of Hogan’s Heroes!

We hope you enjoyed the tour. Please come again as the TBD are always working to reshape the lands for their amusement!

Entrance to the CavernInterior of the cave

Eighth Wonder of the World!

When one has Thai Bangkaew Dogs, the Land Maintenance Division is on call at all times.

Our Ranger does routine maintenance and determines when site closings will occur. Generally, that happens twice a week.

Here our Ranger can be seen filling the burrow with no less than 400 lbs of dirt hauled in by the sack  The entrance can be still be partially viewed at the bottom of the picture. Even though the chambers have been collapsed & partly filled, the hole is still mid-calf deep.

This TBD puppy is demonstrating the techniques implemented in cave creation.

Due to the rapid appearance of these superlative phenomena, we often thought of submitting an application to the Department of the Interior for funding.  The grounds definitely require maintenance & there should certainly be study on how a 35-45 lb dog can move soil with such efficiency.
